I have previously seen someone recommend to ask your partner questions but in a survey manner. Numbering each question 1 - 5 with 5 being very concerned. For example:

• You are worried this might affect our relationship. (3)

• You don’t see how we have time (4)

I personally have found this to be very useful practice.

My partner is considering the life style, she is very reserved person so I absolutely don’t want to press her. However she is very understanding and is open to the idea..
