Lifestyle Before or After Kids

My wife and I had our first child last year and before they were born we had some amazing conversations about what it would look like if we dipped our toes in. We haven't talked about this since. I'm not going to push or pester her about things because I don't want her to create a negative association.
So I'm just curious when most couples started getting into this lifestyle. Was it before or after having kids?
