It seems that more people than I thought want to know about the background a little:
We agreed that we definitely wanted to try a threesome since the imagined situation turned us both on. It was not just one of us initiating it or convincing the other, we both wanted it and still do. So we thought about how to do it for a while and how to find someone. There was one friend I had in mind who I know to be easy to talk to about these topics, so we decided to just ask. Not surprisingly he was interested so we met up twice and just went for it. Of course there were some drinks to reduce the awkwardness but I think that bit of embarrassment and discomfort is what makes it exciting and it should be dealt with authentically and not be overplayed.

No it didn’t, we’re still friends. There’s no specific reason, just that life got in the way.
