Should I get surgery for my Cubital Tunnel Syndrome in both arms?
Post Body

Hey guys,

I first wanted to say that I am so happy this subreddit exists. I had no idea that Cubital Tunnel Syndrome affected so many people, and I am so happy I can talk to people that truly understand what I am going through. Thank you all.

My story is as follows: my hand specialist doctor, who is also a hand surgeon, has mentioned to me that I may possibly need surgery for my cubital tunnel syndrome that I have in both arms for 2 years. For me, my symptoms are tremors (tingling) in my ring finger and pinky finger in both of my hands. The tremors are not terrible, as I still have motor function over them. I don't have any numbness when I am doing regular activities either. I do have a clicking tricep (snapping tricep syndrome), which may be contributing to the cubital tunnel syndrome in both arms, as my doctor thinks my nerves are entrapped at each of my elbows.

My doctor said that if my cubital tunnel syndrome isn't treated, you can develop hand wasting, so I'm pretty worried about it. I have been doing ulnar nerve glides everyday (1 set of 10 reps of 5 different exercises), and am going to move to doing 2 sets of 10 reps everyday starting tomorrow. I also have been rolling out my triceps with a lacrosse ball (myofascial massage), and doing some wrist physical therapy (wrist curls with 3 lb weights).

My doctor wants to do a nerve release surgery in each arm, which he said only takes him 15 minutes. Obviously, I am trying to avoid surgery if possible. Does anyone have any advice on the nerve release surgery, any additional imaging I could get done (I'm thinking about getting another EMG done to ensure my results are accurate), or anything I could do to help make my Cubital tunnel syndrome go away? Anything helps! Thank you so much.
