Hey guys! This post is the third part in our series 'APIs on the Blockchain'. In the first two parts we covered the history of the concept of an API and the intricacies of connecting APIs from what has been defined as 'web 2.0' with blockchain-based smart contracts. In this part we cover the differences between oracles that are run by third parties, as is the case with most current oracle network solutions, and first-party oracles, or those that are run by web 2.0 API providers themselves:
