This a blog post I wrote about Sinovate and their "Infinity Nodes" vs. usual masternodes. We think this improves security of a masternode network significantly and allows us to leverage some new features, due to the way it incentivizes node holders to maintain their node for a long period of time.
It introduces a new transaction type called a BurnTx, when a node is locked up, the funds are immediately burnt but the node holder then receives them back plus a minimum of 22% over the lifetime of the node. This has a max life of around a year and the percentage earned can differ depending on how many nodes are locked up at anyone time.
This keeps a tight control on inflation but also has some important implications for the attack vectors that can be used against masternode networks. I cover these and explain them.
Would love to get some feedback as think this solves some issues other masternode projects have faced over time.
