Help me please... a different pre-ICO investment for me... opportunity or scam?
Post Body

A good acquaintance of mine helped me get into cryptocurrencies a while back, my barber. He explained to me about how it works and what projects he partakes in. He is doing fairly well in the space.

He has been talking about a business partner of his that he’s known since 2007 that is traveling the world working for an IBM project. After two months, and getting another haircut from him, he is excited to tell me about a project he is partaking in.

Barber introduced me to Business Partner. He explains his history in helping with a failed business in 2007, losing his real estate capital in 2008, meeting notable people (picture with him, Dominican President of Verizon, Treasurer of DR... not too sure if they are who says), traveling the world and staying in the nicest hotel from my home country...

He then explains to me this project he is partaking in. He shows me confidential slides of his company he is working with. His company claims to have been developed with IBM’s Hyperledger and Linux Foundations. He states they can do more transactions per second than Blockchain (he meant Ripple). He also claims that they are participating with 143 countries where as ripple is working with 40-something countries. The project is a “new form” of coding, revolutionizing Blockchain. Their focus is doing transactions for banks, cheaper, faster and more secure than legacy programs and... Ripple.

This company is private... they don’t have much information out on the internet he claims. his duty is to raise $150,000 in 2 months. So far he has claimed to have built $130,000. He has given me a copy of the contract and the website. I then found out this is an ICO.

Reddit, how would you handle this situation? I am meeting him in an hour. Any questions that I should ask to verify legitimacy?

TLDR; acquaintance introduced me to a businessman. He is offering 2% ownership for $5,000. Turns out the project is an ICO, and ICO’s can be exit-scams. Awesome opportunity that I want to verify is legitimate.
