I usually don’t make many posts but I’ve seen a lot of posts on here lately saying EXACTLY what I was thinking back in 2020. We all know the world is pretty messy right now. To be completely honest though, the fact that crypto has survived through Covid, all this inflation, war, etc is a pretty damn good achievement in my opinion. I know we’re not out of the woods yet, but if it was 2013 again you’d probably call someone insane for thinking crypto could push through all that.
I’ve been in crypto since 2018. Back in 2020, I let my emotions get the best of me. When the market along with crypto tanked, I got scared. I remember when Bitcoin dropped to $3,000 and Eth hit like $90. I want to say Bitcoin dropped like 40% in a day… I freaked out because I’ve never experienced such a drastic drop within such a short period of time. At that moment in time, it feels like you have such little time to react. I got anxious and then mad that I was down on my investment. And I’m not even going to lie…
I CONVINCED MYSELF THAT CRYPTO WAS DEAD 💀. Is it a scam? Was I too late? Is it purely manipulation?
So what did I do? I sold 2 Btc and 35 Eth almost near the bottom because I was thinking about opportunity cost and so I bought Delta and Cruise stocks instead with the remaining funds. Still made decent money (nowhere near as much if I would’ve held crypto though).
I promised myself that I would never let emotion get in the way of an investment that I’m confident in ever again. Since then, I’ve DCAed and these drops don’t even phase me anymore because I believe in the long term. Obviously, no one no knows what will happen in the future but don’t forget why you invested and don’t forget the fundamentals!
Terra was a wake-up call that hopefully everyone in the crypto community learned something from (and my condolences to those who lost their funds from it). Shit can and will happen so don’t over-invest and don’t strictly follow hype or chase insanely high APRs.
Anyway, for those confused on what to do I just wanted to share my experience and just know we’re all in it together. You’re not the only one who is down in the red and even the stock market still has some recovering to do.
Anyway, what have you guys done besides trading that you enjoyed today? I took my pup to the dog park and got a nice tan since it was hot af out hahah
