Hey /r/cryptocurrency!
Long time lurker here, but a friend recently recommended the Brave browser to me not for its crypto affiliations, but for its built-in privacy tools.
I've downloaded it and have been poking around (typing from there now!) and have accumulated ~0.8 BAT so far from allowing the ad notifications. It seems to have ported over most of my Chrome extensions and functionality pretty well, so I could see switching the bulk of my browsing to it long-term. But...
I'm curious as to whether it's actually safe/secure, not in the way it interacts with other sites (it's done remarkably well at getting to sites that are otherwise using anti-adblocker tech), but in terms of the company/folks behind Brave itself. Any security concerns I should know about, past data breaches or collection of data they don't advertise? That sort of thing?
Thanks!!
