What influence do ecosystems have on they're individual components?

That is, how much does Thorchain's success influence Cosmos?
What about like, Cardano/IOTA?
Or soon, AGIX/Cardano?
Or AGIX/SophiaDAO/SingDAO?
I'm not sure if this would fall under "tokenomics", but I feel that the relationships within the different ecosystems are always left out of the conversation. Any thoughts?
