I love to role play in most games I play, and you would think CK3 would be a given but the majority of my games I can grow from a single province to being a king, or emperor in the first lifetime depending on who or what I am playing. I never have some thorn in my side, and I find any friendship or alliances I make are short lived because that person eventually just dies or becomes replaced by someone else. Even if I decide I'll be a character that focuses on intrigue over warfare I still feel like it doesn't really change how I feel when playing the game. It feels like it's just too easy to gain allies, money and power and whatever issues you might face can be easily resolved with a few quick decisions to counter it.
What are some things you can do to embrace the RP side of the game more than the conquest. I find it hard to have a unique character because they are all in need of the same resources. Like at the end of the day I'm going on a pilgramige because I need more piety, not because it's what my character cares about. I'm hunting because I need renown. I can raise my child to be good at learning because I've already secured my borders for the next generation... None of it activates my RP brain.
