For a game called Crusader Kings, it's bordering on the ridiculous to not have any start dates actually taking place during or immediately after any of the Crusades. Some of my favourite historical figures were all the guys named Baldwin who were in control of the Kingdom of Jerusalem and the Latin Empire, none of which you can actually play in CK3.
At the very least Baldwin IV of Jerusalem would be a super challenging start that also prominently featured Saladin, another historical figure that I'm sure plenty of people want to play as.
It just seems strange to me that "England being invaded" is the starting point they chose for both of the available dates when there are so many more key periods I'd rather play.
