Playing as a lowly nobody duke in France. The Pope declares a crusade for Jerusalem. Having nothing better to do, I joined last minute with less than 800 men and put my sister as beneficiary. Barely did anything in the actual crusade, just followed the big armies cleaning up after them.
We win the crusade, somehow my sister gets Jerusalem with me as heir (which I eventually inherit after my sister gets herself killed in a rebellion). Got tons of gold/piety/prestige without even losing soldiers. fast forward a few years later, a new crusade is announced for the kingdom of Syria, and again I barely do anything for the actual war effort. Now my Daughter is the queen of Syria with me as heir (and of course being insanely wealthy from the crusade chest).
Feels like Deus Vulting is a bit too strong right now.
