If you want your "Head of Faith" (such as the Sunni Caliphate) title to follow the same succession as your Admin Empire, enter this script into the debug console:
effect title:d_sunni = { clear_title_laws = yes }
I wanted to recreate the Rashidun Caliphate, where each Caliph is chosen by powerful leaders within the empire. The only problem was that the Caliph title had it's own hard coded succession law. Therefore it didn't follow Acclamation Succession.
After beating my head on my desk a few times I eventually put together the right syntax that clears Theocratic Succession from the title. Now my Caliphate is properly Sunni.
