Ideas to stop CK3 from being a lifeless game

Post Body

I've played CK3 again after several months without touching it to try out the latest DLC. The game, in my opinion, still suffers from a lack of depth. There are aspects that can be patched with mods, but there are others that have to do with systems that I think should be developed. What would you suggest to improve the game? These are my ideas:

-Actions as advisor to your feudal lord. Being part of the council gives you statistics, but it lacks life. How is it possible that, being a spy chief, you don't get involved in court investigations? How does it not put you in the position of whether or not to tell your master that a relative of yours is hiding a certain secret? How to deal, in some way, with an attempt to reach an agreement with another man as a diplomat or rack your brain as an administrator to earn more money for him? There are many chains that can be formed, events, actions that could bring to life the fact of being a member of the council of a duke or a king. Right now that is missing, which does not encourage us to be loyal and avoid growing at all costs.

-Royal court events. The DLC falls quite short and soon repeats itself. An example of what could be there is what the game Warsim does, which has an endless number of different interactions. From musicians who go to court, drunks, problem children, parents who want to enlist their children in the army, disputes between lords... There are a thousand stories to develop there and, yet, they are not taken advantage of.

-Actions during combat. Make practical decisions. The battle goes badly and you have to decide between the shame of flight or giving up your life in hand-to-hand combat? Choose a riskier location that allows you to better direct the battle or get away from the action? There was a lack of life in the combats, not to mention the sieges, which were really a game of chess. How do special events not arise in what was one of the most relevant moments of the Middle Ages, such as the taking of fortresses and cities?

-Hide numbers and attributes. I know there is a mod that does this, but I think that should be integrated directly into the game. It's essential. Raises the difficulty to a game that absolutely needs it. A rumor system, hiding the number of soldiers or, directly, the attributes of the characters should be an option in the game, not just in a mod. For me, it is the most important new feature that should be included.

-A party system. Medieval courts were not monolithic. There were parties, many. There were nobles who aspired to preserve the balance of power, others who sought to support the figure of the king, others who promoted the economy and trade, others who were contrary to those of another faith or culture, others who were more open and tolerant. Now this appears somewhat in the rating each vassal receives, but it should have greater importance. Being in a party should have events that force you to make decisions with consequences whether you are a vassal or a lord. As a lord, promoting one party over another could involve serious risks, just as it originally did. It would make management much more difficult and would bring more life.

-A system that replicated the papal council and the importance that controlling cardinals could have for the states. Also increasing the involvement of religious heads is the day-to-day life of the states. The Pope had decision-making power in many aspects of the management of kingdoms such as those of Castile, Portugal, France, England or the city states of Italy themselves. That is not there now except the possibility of excommunication. This counterweight would have to be increased. Make relationships difficult in some way. This same system could be applied, for example, to the Holy Roman Empire and the role that the lords had when it came to sharing power with the monarch.
