Issues with The prince and the thane mod

I can't holy war for some reason and if I zoom in to far parts of the map turn black and the game starts jittering and lagging.
What do?
Especially the holy war one, since I am the King of Navarra, and he kinda needs holy wars to expand.
EDIT:
Oh it also seems to get quite laggy whenever I try to do something other then letting the game run.
Really annoying mod so far.
