Quick question you all. I have a 2006 4.6 2v. And unfortunately 😕 got water damaged. One of the rods broke and the rest are all bent. Also, recently found out that one of my heads is bad.
So, I was thinking of just buying a used 4.6 2v from a junk yard. But then thought 🤔 well if I do that there's no telling how the engine was taking care of. Like if the oil was changed regularly. Let alone there wouldn't and way to know if it has any internal damage like head gaskets or even dead cylinder heads.
Then I thought well I could always coyote swap it with a 6r80 trans. But then we'll there's no telling if that engine would work.
So, decided to rebuild my engine. Starting with a 5.0 stroker kit from modmax.com It comes with all the bottom end components that I would need. And I was just going to leave it at that until. I found out one of my heads was dead. So, I was going to order some trickflow heads from Treperformance.com But then thought shoot for an extra 1k I could just buy a complete trickflow kit 38cc.
That comes with everything gaskets heads timing chain rockers performance cams. Although I know that I'm going to need to upgrade my stall converter on my trans because of the large cams. Plus I was going to swap out my 3.27 gears and, install some 4.10 gears paired with a torsen 2 FR500S differential. And of course a tune.
Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions for me. Also would anyone know how much ho and tq it would be making with all these upgrades? Plz 🙏 and thank you.
