Just jumping in here. 2010 P7B, former Cheyenne PD unit. Short term goal: pull a small trailer doing lawn aeration and fertilization. Long term goal: the toughest car in existence. Purchased 9/23 at auction. Pros: little to no oxidation (I was blown away at that), obviously fleet maintained, it's a P7B. Cons: had to put a fuel pump in immediately, replacing the snap ring didn't bring overdrive back, and some pesky circuit codes. (98% sure it's in the harness, replacing it anyhow due to PD "tech" work) Moved back home to Texas and quickly found out she had no ac. (Not a problem where the temp is below 30°F 9 months out of the year 🙄) Can't let well enough alone led to a fk it whole new system. And I mean compressor, dryer, orifice, condenser, evaporator, service ports, virgin freon and oil. Well today's can't let well enough alone is brought to you by a recent crabbing trip. My son and I went out crabbing and left the bait in the trunk the other night. Pulled up at my dad's around 7am this morning about to puke. Started taking out plastics and liners and one thing led to another. The more I took off the worse the yuck got. It took on a uoija board spiral down the drain. The more I tried to stop it and control it, the more dismal my future became. I eventually found the good enough heat index of 109°F and stole dad's Jeep to pay homage to my corporate masters. Tomorrow starts anew: roll/brush on bed liner floors, trunk, and non visible door skins. (The entire "paint job" is going to be bed liner) Topping that with R21 attic radiant heat barrier to make the ac colder and the upcoming stereo sound better. Then just going to throw the (now clean) vinyl skin back down. Stay tuned as this shitshow progresses.
Crab dinner pic for dramatic effect.
