I am currently teaching in Asia using a 120hr TEFL that I gained in literally 2 hours. This gives me a paycheck to paycheck job. I found out that I absolutely love teaching. Seeing my students progress is an amazing feeling.
I want to make this into a career by gaining a PGCEI and start working at legitimate schools, earning a better wage and eventually turning it into qualified teacher status in the UK so I can finally go home to my family.
Do you think it is feasible to crowdfund the $6600 to fund the degree. I feel selfish even asking but I've been trying to get funding for two years now and I'll just not eligible, nor can I can a bank loan. My wage doesn't allow me to save money each month. It has been 3 years since I last went home due to that. I just feel stuck in my situation with no way out and that a degree in education is a pipe dream.
I've tried asking for advice in multiple forums to gain funding but nothing fits my circumstance. Mostly I just get told to start an OF (which is very illegal in the country I'm in and I don't fancy being in an Asian jail!)
Any advice or information is greatly appreciated.
