Do I need any additional roof equipment for cargo?

Hey, I bought this 2015 Crosstrek used, and I have no experience with roof racks. This equipment came with the car (I have no info about the bars except the visual). Do I need additional equipment to carry cargo up there? Context: I'm moving soon and may want to put storage bins or light furniture up there. Best recommendations? (I also have a hitch). Thanks!
