I'm not really that great of a distance runner to be honest. My personal record on my mile time is 5:59 and my personal record on my 5k is about 22:00. I actually set my mile time record a few days ago, but have been struggling with lowering my 5k time ever since I set it in freshman year (I'm a sophomore now). Now I know it might seem crazy with the times I have, but I really want to get under 20 minutes for my 5k by the end of the next Cross Country season. I still have about six months left to do whatever the hell I need to do before, so what workouts and things should I start doing to reach this goal? I'm sort of frustrated and confused on what path I should follow for the upcoming months, since I ran everyday and worked out last offseason only to not improve on my 5k time at all. Anyway if you have any, please share some tips or suggestions you would suggest to help me lower my time to a 20 minute 5k! I appreciate all the help, thank you!
