Context: Hey so - I was scheduled to have a colostomy 27 October.
Finally spoken to the surgeon after the last intervention, which was an EUA & colonoscopy under GA. Turns out everything is healing really well, symptoms are improving. And they’ve decided to remove the surgery date, but actively monitor me. But at the minute things are healing quickly and much better than they initially thought. Which is great news.
I had perianal abscesses and fistulas and was essentially incontinent and was suffering dreadfully from overnight leakage and some leakage during the day. Also dreadful joint pain I’ve almost completed my pred taper and currently on 5mg a day. I have idacio (humira) injections weekly.
Anyways all symptoms are massively improving, seemingly drastically in the last week.
My question is around this overnight leakage… which whilst improving is the last “problematic” symptom. Has anyone had similar? How long did it take to clear? Any suggestions on symptom management beyond pads? Or anything else suggested to help healing?
Thanks in advance
