Hello my fellow Crohnies,
I am a US veteran and have been relying on the VA for my medical needs. However, since my Crohns disease started flaring up severely in January 2020 they seem to have no idea how to treat it. I have suffered from depression and severe ADHD on top of all the GI distress/ GERD, arthritis, and for a little while neuropathy in my legs. I have been asking for help getting my mental health and my GI team to cross-talk as it is my understanding that GI distress acts on the vegas nerve to instigate the mental health issues. However, my doctors insist there is no science for this claim and they "only do science-based medicine".
So with that preamble in mind I wanted to ask this community if there were white papers or doctors they knew of that make the link between Crohn's and depression/ADHD expressly overt? Thanks in advance!
