Just back from my unsedated colonoscopy. They found a tumor so large they couldn't get by it, so only saw the rectum and lowest part of colon, a foot or so total.
Since it's Friday, I'll get my times for xray and mri and whatnot next week. Off to find a colon cancer sub. Yes I'm still in shock.
Update (also separate post below): Thank you all, what a wonderfully supportive group you are <3
I hope it won't have spread, from what I read colon cancer is sneaky, in that i tmight not show symptoms. I have had worsening symptoms for around six weeks, lower abdominal pain, mostly in the right side, crampy pain. BM between 15-20 times a day, and a few at night, produciong mostly mucus, blood, 'onion skin like bits'. So I was fairly certain it was Crohn's or UC. The scary part now is waiting to find out if it is only the tumor in the sigmoid, of if there is more in the colon (since the scope couldn't get past the tumor) further up. Kind of worried since my pain has been in the other side... But maybe it is just because of the blockage.
I just turned 45, so this isn't just for 60 age group - please everybody, keep getting thise darn colonscopies! Ok - preaching to the choir here, you guys are probably getting checked more than anyone... :)
