Learning new projects and I’m starting to feel overwhelmed on how I can achieve these on my own. Or will I always need to watch a tutorial.

I've recently started crocheting, and I'm absolutely loving it. Right now, I'm focusing on single stitch crochet.
My question is, how do people go about learning new projects? How do we develop the skills to create our own unique pieces? I see so many beautiful creations, and I'm curious if most people are following tutorials or learning in other ways. I hope that makes sense!
