Wild First Session
Post Body

First, I want to say that this is my first post on reddit - ever. But I enjoy reading some of these stories so I might as well submit mine even if it isn't as wild.

So this was my first time playing 3.5e(usually I play 5e) but my coworkers invited me to join their dnd group and I love playing dnd so why not really? But anyway the group consisted of a goliath barbarian, another barbarian in which I don't know the race, a human fighter, two sorcerers, a druid, and me the half-elf ranger. We started out in a frozen tundra to hunt down a cult, it all started out good and dandy. Then we come across some "hills" that actually turned out to be tents and a statue that we uncovered.

Oh yeah also, the DM kind of made me the de-facto leader because I'm playing as a ranger - I was more or less a guide perse.

But anyway, we come across a well where we see spirits and then the corpse of a young girl, I attempt to pull up the corpse but eventually ended up just yanking off the arm off of the girl and I hopped back in surprise after which skeletons appear and I attempt to throw the arm at the skeletons over the well. Well, the arm doesn't get over there and ends up dealing 4 points of damage to me instead. the goliath barbarian is just going around killing all of the skeletons throwing his goliath hammer around crushing enemies. the other barbarian isn't doing all that but he still goes in rage. The two snobbish sorcerers refuse to hop in combat. The druid decides to go explore the rest of the statue and comes across a man freezing whilst atop a pole and all he has to keep him warm is this bear fur cloak. So what do you think the druid does? Help him or take the bear cloak and leaves him to freeze? If you guessed the latter, you'd be correct. She just lets him freeze to death because she wanted to bear fur cloak. I'm attempting to shoot these skeletons with my bow but I'm not doing jack shit to them.

While all of this is going on, the fighter kills a skeleton dog and is attempting to drag it towards him but because there's snow, he's struggling a lot. eventually he manages to do it and flings it over his head damaging the skeleton behind him.

By this point the two barbarians are face to face with each other yelling at each other and pretty much having a dick measuring contest on who can sound the angriest. As there is a skeleton coming behind them, I attempt to shoot at it, fail, and cause an avalanche almost burying the two barbarians. The Goliath just destroys the skeleton in one swing with the hammer.

The fighter ends up grabbing the arm and attempts to hit me with it after me calling the party idiots, he then proceeds to take a bite out of it.

This marks the end of combat and the end of the session as it was around 3am at this point but everyone had fun.

This was all last week and we didn't have one this week because the DM is going through a divorce at the moment. But yeah this by far the most wild first session I've ever had

TL;DR: Goliath barbarian destroys everything while the rest of the party is fucking up or doing whatever they want, and fighter eats a decomposed arm
