I just had a question for queer listeners. What are your opinions on pride month episodes (ones that cover crimes towards LGBTQIA )? This can be from CJ or any true crime podcast.
I've been thinking about it a lot recently, and it makes me quite sad that when celebrating pride, the episodes are quite gruesome / can include hate crimes. But I wanted to ask your opinion ๐
As someone apart of the LGBTQIA community, I was horrified that they used Pride to showcase a violent crime against 2 queer women. I listen to a few other crime/spooky adjacent podcasts hosted by members who identifying as LGBTQIA who have specifically said that pride isnโt the time to talk about violent queer bashing crimes, and I totally agree. Pride should be celebrated by maybe educating the listeners about Stonewall, the death of Martha P. Johnson, or what about the Gay people who help many during the Holocaust. Honestly June isnโt the month to highlight violent crimes against my community, but there are many other months to bring up the terrible crimes put against my gay, queer, trans, non binary friends especially those who are POC, but yeh CJ ignores them. Sorry for my rant, but that episode really bothered me.
