I have a 1.5 year old gecko who I’ve been planning on upgrading to a bioactive to reduce the time I have to spend in his tank, he really doesn’t like being handled, he’s very squirmy and doesn’t let me hold him, he leaps away and doesn’t deal well with it. Currently my approach to cleaning out the tank has been every week removing and replacing paper towel, cleaning the walls down with a water/vinegar solution, and taking out his decor and cleaning it, however I never take him out of the tank (well not never, he was a hatchling when got him so he was in a small tank and I moved him to his current tank, at the time I picked him up but that’s no longer easily achieved). I am getting a new tank to turn into a bioactive, but my concern has been how I’m going to move him to a new home. As mentioned he won’t let me handle him, I know it tends to be easier during the day as they’re less active, but does anyone have any suggestions on how to get him into his new home when the time comes? I want him to have a better home but I’m at a loss on how to execute the move.
