Question about parthenogenesis

Post Body

Hey all! My female crested gecko is almost 4 years old and displaying a behaviour I’ve never seen before. A few days ago, on schedule, she laid eggs, she literally always buries her eggs in the substrate, but this time laid them in her favourite hide (that’s in the warmest area of the tank).. she’s has been doing what I can only describe as incubation of the eggs, and every time I’ve checked on her as she’s not really moving much except for a few hours at night to eat, she will snap at me, she’s never been social and I don’t really handle her due to her own trauma, but she’s never done this before, and it’s only if I get close to her eggs, she was out drinking water last night and I brought in food and she had no issue until I went to check the eggs and she literally latched onto my finger and bit me. I know there’s gotta be instinct at play but I’m wondering if this is something people have seen before as she’s never been mated, and has been actively laying eggs for almost 3 years, and has never once done this. My obvious fear is parthenogenesis as I only have basic knowledge on breeding and caring for babies, and we don’t have many enthusiasts locally I could go to for help.
