mouth rot or dirt??

he enjoys burrowing in his substrate but the sagging of his mouth in the second pic worries me so im going to take him to the vet anyway. from what i was able to see opening his mouth the inside looks okay, just around it shown in the picture are the only darkened bits. he has a history of MBD if that helps in any way. NOT LOOKING FOR MEDICAL DIAGNOSIS JUST THEORIES. HE WILL BE SEEN BY A LICENSED EXOTIC VET
