Rumor over on the myFICO forums is that the BBVA cards will be converted to PNC products (around Oct. according to the thread). This breaks my setup as I heavily rely on the 3X multiplier for utilities which include cell phone bill, internet and car insurance. sigh I'm gonna miss this card if they really do away with it.
One alternative I can think of is the USB Cash which allows you to pick 2 5% categories and right now I see they have TV/Internet/Streaming Services and Cell Phone Providers. Although the wording says thru June 2021, so does that mean there could be a quarter where they remove one of those categories?
The Cash doesn't seem to solve my potential loss of 3% back on my car insurance payments.
Current FICO: 750-770 depending on FICO8/FICO9
AAoA: 2.5 years (dropped from 8 years after student loan consolidation)
Current Cards: BCP, BBVA ClearPoints and WF Propel
Most Recent Acct: WF Propel 01/21
Another idea I had was the Citi Premier for the SUB and then PC to DC as the ClearPoints alternative. So dropping from 3% to 2% on these monthly expenses.
I've heard rumors that both Cash and Citi Premier want to see 0/6 and max 1/12. So does that mean I need to wait till at least July/August before applying because of the new Propel account?
Open to other ClearPoints alternatives. Thank you!
