Second Cash Back Card recommendations
Post Body

  • Current cards: (list cards, limits, opening date)
    • Capital One Quicksilver, $4,000, Dec 2014 (Feb 2020 if it counts that I upgraded it from a Journey Student Card)
    • Home Depot Consumer Card, $5,000, Nov 2019
  • FICO Score: 733
  • Oldest account age: 9 years, 2 months (Student Loans)
  • Chase 5/24 status: 1 or 2/24 depending on if the upgrade counts.
  • Income: $57,245
  • Average monthly spend and categories:
    • dining $120
    • groceries: $320
    • gas: $100
    • travel: $0 (I do a lot of day trips where I basically pay for gas/food, but that's about it unless I have to travel for work or holidays)
    • other: $700-$800. I put pretty much everything on my credit card besides my loans/insurance.
  • Open to Business Cards: Sure, if the rewards are significantly better.
  • What's the purpose of your next card?
    • Better cash back rewards mainly.
  • Do you have any cards you've been looking at?
    • I've looked at the BOA Cash Rewards card since I have my checking/main saving account with them plus a couple others (Citi Double Cash, a couple Chase options)
  • Are you OK with category spending or do you want a general spending card?
    • I don't mind category spending, but I would prefer the categories be set or I get to pick them like with the BOA card. I don't want to do rotating categories.
