CREDIT PROFILE:
Currently cards: BoA Custom Cash Rewards $2,600 limit; Apple Card $7,500 limit
Fico Score: 760
Credit Age: BoA card is 10 years old, Apple Card is 1 year
Annual Income: $160,000
Recent Inquiries: 4 Auto loan inquires all on November 29, 2023 (so 1, right?)
Auto Loan: $29,000 left of $60,000
Monthly Spend: Usually $1,500 - $2,500. I’m lucky to still live at home. I spend $800 on insurance each month for myself and family members. I spend roughly $300 on food, $300 on hobbies, and $300-500 on miscellaneous things usually.
Travel: I usually take one or two trips each year. This year I’m going to Thailand in November so I was considering a Chase card to take advantage of the SUB of spending $4000 within 3 months. However, since I don’t spend much on a monthly basis, I’m not sure I’d want a card with an annual fee as it may not be worth it. I’m more prefer cash back rather than travel points, but unsure if I should get a card for travel since I do take some trips. I was also considering the Citi double cash card.
I don’t need to open a new card, but I figure it would be best to open one to build a thicker profile, develop a longer credit age for the future, and have a larger line of credit overall to cut down on my monthly usage. Basically, just looking ahead. I currently use my BoA card for dining, although I don’t spend much. My Apple Card is basically for everything else and try to use Apple Pay as much as possible.
Any advice and guidance would be much appreciated.
