Lost money from card randomly

So as the title suggests I randomly lost money on my wells fargo card. I had $59-45 at the time of transaction for gas. Attendent puts car and fills up car. Gas stops at $19.45 odd I said. Checked my account and $0 even tho beforehand I had $59.45 so now my question is. How did I randomly lose $30??? Bc there is nothing on my transcation that woulf suggest otherwise. Even when I transferred $20 beforehand it showed as successful. Then gas stops at $19.45 exact. And mind you THERE IS NO CREDIT CARD FEE.
