Currently holding 5 cards with a total combined limit of $88,600. Recently opened up a CFU with a 0% APR offer and a $22,000 credit line. I also got the (now discontinued) offer for 2x points back at the end of the year, so my plan is to put all my spending this year on this card and let my balance accumulate to $20k while only making minimum payments and putting the rest away into a 5% HYSA. Then I’ll pay it off in a lump sum at the end of the year.
I’ve got a credit score of 756 (Vantage) right now since I opened 2 cards in december and my average account age is pretty low. Buying a house is probably a few years out at least, so the only thing I will likely need a high score for is opening new cards. But you never know. Will keeping a high balance on one card for the year tank my score enough for me to be concerned? I will be looking to open a CFF soon but not sure when the smartest time to do it will be. 3 cards in 3 months feels a little rushed.
