I am 29 years old, have an annual income of roughly $150k, and currently have:
1) Bank of America customized cash rewards card - 9 years old - $2,600 credit limit - Monthly statement of roughly $500
2) Apple Card - 6 months old - $6000 credit limit - Monthly statement of roughly $1,300
My current credit score seems to hover around 760-790. I figure it would be a good idea to open another card or two to build a higher credit line and build more credit card age for the longer term. Also, I do plan on purchasing a roughly $60k car in about 6 months, if that has any input on this.
However, I don’t travel much and don’t have many expenses each month. So as I research cards, I see so many being linked with travel rewards which doesn’t appeal to me. And on top of that, I’d prefer no annual fee so I can always keep it open for credit age and not have to worry about extracting benefits from the card to cover the annual fee.
Does it make sense for me to open another card at this time with these factors, or should I wait until I have more expenses, etc? And if so, do you have any recommendations on what cards I should check out?
