Current cards: Bank of America Customized Cash Rewards Visa, Bank of America Travel Rewards Visa Signature, American Express Blue Sky Rewards, Discover it. All cards over 5-10 years old. Unsure of limits as I've never approached them/have never thought about them (and prefer not to share online 😬).
FICO Score: 815
Oldest account age: ~14 years
Income: $50-60k through June 2024, $100k post July 2024
Average monthly spend and categories: Varies - pretty significant on online spending, groceries, and home improvement right now.
Open to Business Cards: No
What's the purpose of your next card? Travel benefits
Are you OK with category spending or do you want a general spending card? Preferred for travel spending
Note: All cards are payed in full each month so not super concerned with APR/promo APR at this time. Almost all my expenses are processed through credit so just trying to harness that to see some new places.

Ok! I know this or similar questions have been asked but this is for my extra AF/wanderlust girls/guys/theys:
I'm looking for a credit card pretty exclusively for travel costs and purchases (If the travel points are better than the cash rewards in other categories I can use it for that as well of course). I have a cash rewards card that I prefer for most purchases, but I currently travel 2-3 times/year minimum for trips requiring flights and more often for driving trips. I'm also hoping to take a 2 month trip to literally anywhere and everywhere next summer between jobs (intentionally applying to have a gap) and want to find a card to start gathering points and get global precheck (already have TSA PreCheck and don't want to pay the fee again. 😬)
I'm currently looking at Capital One Venture X and Chase Sapphire Reserve in part because visa is more widely accepted than something like AMEX, but am not sure which one to go with. They seem to have similar-ish benefits and the difference of $155 could easily be justified for me by better perks (eg. more established lounge network, more flexibility, etc.)
All of this to say: I'm wondering for those who have these or an equal caliber card: What are your pros/cons? Why do you prefer one over the other? How flexible is it to use/transfer your points? And anything else you think would be helpful in making a decision.
THANKS! 😊
