I've been baffled by the civil war in Syria for a long time. Baffled in the sense that, I don't even have the most basic grasp of who's fighting Assad and why. I understand that we have regional factions collaborating to fight Assad, but do they have a plan to create a new government if they win? How much do they have in common - do they want to create a new single Syrian state with a specific agenda or fragment and go their separate ways assuming they win? Is there a good resource where I could learn more? Thanks.
