If you are an OnlyFans creator and have been looking around the internet for tips and tricks for your business, you probably know Emma Claire aka midwestemma. I would say she’s one of the biggest names in the OnlyFans industry and is famous in this industry for being extremely successful with her farming content, resulting in her being a multi-millionaire (her words). In addition to the content she provides to her fans who consume her porn for their enjoyment, she also presents herself as a guide/coach/inspiration for other creators. She has a podcast (The Spicy Accountant Podcast on Spotify), has made several videos on YouTube, has sold guides in the past, has offered paid one on one coaching in the past and still offers paid group Zoom coaching calls for other creators.
I myself have been following her religiously since around January 2021 when I first discovered her through one of her YouTube videos. I have listened to every single episode of her podcast, I have been subscribed to her paid OnlyFans since around that same time, I have been following her on every platform, etc. She has always been my greatest inspiration and I’ve been looking up to her, just like thousands of other creators. She has always been very open about her numbers and sharing her income. Lately she has been tweeting claiming to have 30,000 – 40,000 full paid subscribers on her midwestemma OnlyFans page.
On April 24, 2022 she had posted several tweets about having more than 30,000 paid subscribers. However, on that same day she posted a story to her Snapchat which was a picture of her logged in paid OnlyFans page to promote the live she was going to do later that day. As you may know, when you’re logged in to your OnlyFans page, it tells you at the top of your header/banner how many fans you have. In this picture that she posted it was clearly visible that she ‘’only’’ has 13.8K fans. I was kind of shocked since she tweeted just a little earlier that 32,000 subscribers would be watching her squirt on her live. I assume she was unaware that her fan count was showing and didn’t mean to post that, but did so by accident.
So I tweeted to her the following:
‘’In two of your tweets from today you claim to have more than 30K subscribers on your paid page, but you uploaded a picture to your Snapchat earlier today of your logged in paid OF where it clearly states you have 13.8K subscribers. What’s up with that?’’
She did not respond to this. Meanwhile, people started asking me for proof (screen shots/pictures) of what I said in my tweet. I did not think it was fair or decent to start sharing screen shots without giving her the chance to respond/explain/defend herself first. So I DM’ed her on both Twitter and Instagram. She did not respond to this either. She did tweet about the Zoom call for creators that she would be hosting on April 25, saying that would be her last Zoom call ever. I tweeted ‘’That’s great! One step further in no longer making money off people under false pretenses.’’ She did not respond, but she did delete her tweet. The next morning I saw she chose to just block me on all platforms.
There are two reasons why I think her not being honest is problematic and should be ‘’exposed’’ to other creators:
- She has been making money off other creators by giving/selling them tips, tricks and coaching. Don’t get me wrong, her tips are mostly good, useful and motivating so no problem there. However, people decide to purchase things from her or listen to her based on the presumption that she is as successful and wealthy as she claims to be. Obviously, it’s not fair (and also illegal) to sell stuff to people under false pretenses.
- If I’m speaking for myself and everything I see being posted in r/onlyfansadvice and r/CreatorsAdvice, A LOT of people have been comparing themselves to her. Myself included (even though I know damn well that I shouldn’t compare myself to anyone lol) and I have always been flabbergasted by the success after success after success after success she claims to have. She claimed to have over 40,000 paid subscribers and to earn $800,000 per month (source: her tweets and her podcast). She has talked about not sharing the downsides/lows on one of the latest episodes of her podcast, she said she prefers not to do that because obviously (potential) subscribers can read that as well and may not subscribe if they see that business is slow. Completely understandable. She is also by no means obligated to share her business or numbers with anyone. But if I see how famous she is among other creators and how many people listen to her podcast, a large portion of those 13.8K subscribers may even be other creators and not customers (as in: consumers of porn for enjoyment). If you subtract the other creators from the 13.8K, then how many subscribers does she really have? Certainly not nearly as much as she claims to have. If it turns out that her sales market mainly consists of other creators, that will certainly change the way in which we can listen to her tips and advice. I know it can take a toll on one’s mental health to compare yourself to someone who seems to be so wildly successful, especially if it turns out that what you’re comparing yourself to is not in fact real.
And still, if she has 13.8K paid subscribers (regardless of what percentage of those are other creators), that’s still an impressive accomplishment and I would still consider her to be super successful. However, I don’t think it’s fair that she has been pretending (for an unknown duration) to be something that she’s not and has been misleading other creators by doing so. I think this is something others should know.
