Itās no secret that upvotes can be purchased. However Reddit themselves as well as most subreddits have a rule against this.
However. As Iām sure youāve noticed. Tons of models use upvote bots.
Like 100 upvotes in less than 8 minutes. When the sub they posted on has 24 active users.
This immediately pushes these posts to the āhotā section of whatever sub theyāre posted on. And theyāre literally impossible to overthrow.
Reddit doesnāt do anything no matter how many times I report. Neither do any mods.
Ugh. Iām so tired of this. How can we compete with people who can afford to dump $100-$500 a day on upvote bots?
Iāve taken to flat out commenting āobviously using an upvote botā on these posts. No model ever replies. Cus thereās no model.
Quick edit: this post is not intended to make those who worked hard to build a huge following-feel targeted or attacked. Those who are can authentically accumulate upvotes like this. Iām very happy people have found success and wish those people absolutely nothing but the best.
However. Some people be faking their success. And itās the big olā fakers that Iām upset about.
If you had to work your booty off to gain a following like that- why do others get a shortcut. Ya know?
i feel you, believe me. newbie starting out from 0. so the hill to climb is hugeā¦ i also hate people posting in nicheās when their content or themselves donāt align.
but i chose not to aim for the stars. i am starting small so i lean on subs where i can gain traction organically. and i focus on how that converts to subs, bc at the end of the day the $$ is more important to me than upvotes.
definitely donāt think you should bail! Iām in the same boat but Iām tryna keep at it. i have made some seriously great connections already. it just takes work. reddit has an algorithm just as any other social site, so you have to continue using their software to keep being recognized. if established creators can get thousands of upvotes organically, it is possible. it just takes persistence.
