I have noticed several other creators who frequent some of the same niche subreddits as me have me blocked despite never having interacted before. I'm wondering if this is a tactical thing? So for example as I cannot see their posts within a subreddit it's more difficult to see whether it's the right time to post (I only posts when I think overtaking the hot post is doable based on the amount of upvotes it has/ how old the post is). I can't think of what else could be the reason for this.
Weâve done 2 or 3 times because we had competitions who would downvote everything we post within seconds. Blocking them solved the problem.

We tested it. For example, we were in a pretty famous sub which allowed you to post each hour. We would post, and before we could even refresh the page it was downvoted, and the next post was by âperson x.â Whenever we posted the same thing happened. When we posted at different hours and that person wasnât online it didnât happen. So we ran a test. We blocked them from our main account and posted. Never happened again. We could see from our throwaway account that they were still posting every hour, but since our post wasnât visible to them they couldnât downvote. Then we unblocked them and tried the experiment again to confirm. Only happened with a few folks over the years. No biggie.
