Just an option in case I decide college isn't for me.
This requires a decade of careful planning because it takes around 10 years for pistachio trees to give nuts. But this is taken care of so all is well. I would have to live on the land that had the trees on it. A large cost of production for pistachio farming would be irrigation. If I can get large amounts of saline water (appropriate for pistachio trees), that would save a lot of money. I could use that money to create a gin sort of machine to process/prepare the nuts for roasting.
The reason pistachios are expensive is because they require a lot of human effort to process. So if I can manage to minimize my own production costs, then perhaps products such as pistachio oil (medical benefits, cooking uses, spa/facial uses?) might become worth looking at. Of course this industry would require indepedent research into any actual uses of pistachio derived products. Perhaps a BBC documentary on the subject might help. I currently focus on filmmaking so getting this produced would be fun.
Fun Fact: Pistachios are so low in water content/high in fat(the good kind) that shipping in bulk is sort of dangerous as shipments are prone to spontaneous combustion.
