I thought it was one of the top posts on this sub, but maybe another related one? I tried cryptids, paranormalencounters, highstrangeness, no luck. We all know reddit search absolutely blows.

A guy, alone, parks his car and walks to his deer stand in the middle of the night to check something. Can't remember the reason why. He has a thermal scope on his rifle and sees a figure like a mile away on the other side of a clearing. He snaps a twig and it hears him and looks at him. It starts walking towards him and he fire a warning shot, I think?

It was well written and a spooky innawoods story, but can't find it now. Anyone else remember it more distinctly/have a link? Thank you for your help!
