Any good field-based strategies?

I've been fiddling with a lot of different strategies and I've never utilized the field. I'm aware of its "house edge" and the problems with a one-roll bet, but I am curious if anyone uses the field as part of a betting strategy.
The Iron Cross is one I've looked at already, as well as a modified version including either a lay or don't pass. Any thoughts?
