The fridge in my camper has a dial that's 1-7. Is 1 the coldest, or is 7? Why does it stop at 7? Why not go to 11?

40 is the beginning of the "danger zone" for food. I would not set it to that, because chances are, it will get up to 41 or 42 before trying to cool down again. Anywhere between 34-38 is a good range.
