Game crashing on iPhone

Is anyone else dealing with a lot of lag and regular game crashes? It crashed on me 7 times while trying to do my quests today. The worst times are when the bear stories are happening, collecting badge rewards, and fishing.
I’ve got an iPhone 8, so it’s several years old, but I don’t have issues with any other games.
