My internet went down Monday around 11:45a. I chatted with cox (they were not answering the phones) and was informed of an outage. After the outage cleared, my service was still down. I was then told that there was "Node Maintenance" in my area which would last until late that night. Next Morning, same store. Maintenance etc. After chatting again later last night I was told "all outages and maintenance has been cleared, everything is fine." Everything is not fine, my modem is still just flashing amber on the down stream. After catching a tech in a complete lie, he told me he could see my modem when in fact it was unplugged, they are now blaming my hard ware for my current outage. Not really sure how that lines up. I own my modem and it is a little over 2 years old. Things aren't adding up here. I HAVE to have internet to do my job as we are on a state wide COVID-19 stay at home order. Is it possible that my modem happened to go out the same time as the outage? I am going to pick up a new modem today and see what happens. If there was any other ISP I could get in my area, I would. Cox has been awful for support.
Tl;dr Long lasting outage, cox claims it has cleared, my modem is still flashing amber on Downstream and they say my modem is bad.
Update: I bought a new modem it worked, but oddly enough there was still an outage in my area. I'm all good now, many thanks.
