CVS vs. Walgreens experience? (question for U.S. folks)

Post Body

I and my wife got our 1st Pfizer shot at Walgreens here in South Carolina. They did a lot of stuff like checking our ID, insurance card, and gave us new vaccination cards and also Walgreens paperwork with rx information, receipt for $0 etc. They filled a new syringe for each person after doing this paperwork. Brought it out of a different room. Made us sit there for 15 mins after the shot.

We scheduled our 2nd dose at CVS because Walgreens gave us 2nd appointment 4 weeks after 1st shot. As Pfizer recommends 3 weeks, so we were looking and found 2nd appointment at CVS (this time in North Carolina and we live near the statelines). The experience was totally different at CVS. No ID, no insurance, no paperwork given.

They already had 6-7 syringes filled and set on a table. Asked my name and DOB, gave me the shot and asked me to get the info added to the vaccine card that I already had. So I went to the front desk and a girl added the 2nd shot date etc. on my card. The whole thing took less than 2 mins literally.

Has anyone else had similar experience? They didn't even bother to ask which was my 1st shot (Pfizer or Moderna). I did fill the 1st shot information while booking the online appointment. So I am assuming they know what to inject me with. And this thought occurred to me while I was getting the vaccine card filled, and I asked casually 'do you have both Moderna and Pfizer) and she said we know have Pfizer. That was a relief though.

I feel one can literally get as many shots they want at CVS (no wonder no one would do that).

Woah really? I live in NC, went to Walgreens both times and was in and out. Didn’t ask for insurance, just filed out some paperwork that could reveal if the vaccine would be bad for me, then they suggested I stayed for 15, but didn’t force me.

I think the true moral of the story is that NC is superior 😎(just kidding..)
