As someone in the poly/ENM world, and in a triad for 3 years, I think this show is exactly what it sounds like. The term throuple means adding a third to a couple. Where the term triad means three people dating each other. Throuple is used for unicorn hunters who just want to always protect the original couple and they have to do everything ātogetherā unless itās the original couple. Then they can do things alone. If they were really interested in forming an ethical three person relationship, person A and person B could be intimate alone. Person B and person C could be intimate alone. Person A and person C could be intimate alone. How Corey was not ok with Denyse going farther with Wilder, Denyse could have said, Iād like to explore my connection with Corey alone, or asked if they limited their intimacy so she could feel comfortable as well. Becca could have explored her connection with Lauren and Dylan could have tried to court Becca. Not just sleep with her.
They treated the singles like a toy they could play with instead of an actual human being with their own thoughts, feelings, emotions, and wants. The episode where they had to answer the questions and the question about babies came up, I KNOW Brittane would be upset if the third wanted to have Seanās babies. All these couples just need a realistic sex doll they can put on and off the shelf. They donāt need a real person.
