I am trying to decide which counseling direction to pursue for my masters degree. The programs I have looked into include 400 hours of internship while in the program. However, I need 3,000 total to become licensed. Are the hours for internships towards licensing typically paid? Or unpaid? I am in southern CA for reference.
I’m in a MFT program in socal, most internship sites are unpaid. I have a full time job, so I made sure to get a practicum site that is flexible with my work schedule (evening times/ weekend). Once you graduate, you can register as an associate, find an associate position, and you get paid! And hours are towards licensure
